History and foundation of
ASSANGA
Although the first official registration of ASSANGA with the Georgia Secretary of State occurred in 2006, the foundation and organization of Angolans in Georgia began in the late 1990s. These early efforts were informal, with young Angolans gathering in their homes. Over the years, the group expanded to include older community members who had been living in the United States for more than two decades. This foundation laid the groundwork for the formal establishment of ASSANGA, which now serves as a support system and a hub for promoting cultural preservation and empowerment.
