About ASSANGA

Building bridges, preserving heritage, empowering futures

Our History & Foundation

ASSANGA’s journey began in the 1990s with informal gatherings of Angolans who sought to maintain their cultural identity while building new lives in Georgia. These early meetings fostered a sense of belonging and mutual support among community members.

In 2006, recognizing the need for a more structured approach to serving the growing Angolan diaspora, the community officially registered ASSANGA as a nonprofit organization. This milestone marked the beginning of organized efforts to preserve Angolan heritage and strengthen community bonds.

Today, ASSANGA stands as a pillar of unity, cultural preservation, and empowerment for Angolans in Georgia and beyond, continuing to grow and adapt to meet the evolving needs of our community.
